Description

A “Nambutekki” teapot, designed by Yoshitaka Nakamura.
* This product is not for “water boiling,” but for purpose of “pouring tea” only.

Safety Examination on Itchu-Do Nambutekki Products

The teapots provided by “Itchu-Do” have been examined for elution level of heavy metal such as “lead,” “cadmium,” etc., by “SGS, ” the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, and confirmed that they are remarkably safe.

Itchu-Do Nambutekki
Nambutekki is an authorized Japanese Traditional Craft from Iwate Prefecture, and it has a 900-year-old history. The teapot has excellent heat-retention, and the inside surface is applied with “enamel” to improve its thermalability.

How to use
– Before using it, wash with “water” well the inside of the teapot, as well as the tea strainer.
– When the outside of the body gets wet, push a soft and high-absorption cloth against the surface and gently dry it off.
– After you have finished using it, again, you should wash with “water” and dry it completely before putting it away.  The spout and the handle and/or their joint parts, as well as the back of the lid, may not be dried easily, so that you should pay extra attention for these parts.
– If you see “tea stain” on the inside surface of the pot, wash it using a sponge and pH-neutral detergent.

Cautions
1. The inside surface of the pot is applied with “enamel” so that you should NOT use steel wool (or wire sponge) or abrasives as they may damage the enamel layer.
2. This product is designed for “pouring water” purposes, so that you should NOT heat it directly on stove or oven.  Furthermore, pouring soup containing salt or seasoning into the pot may result in losing or changing color, or getting rusty.
3. Do NOT use the pot in a microwave oven, or it will explode.
4. Do NOT use the pot in a dish washer (washing machine) or a dish dryer.
