Just an Ordinary Life in Japan (005): Edamame (Green Soybeans)

Edamame is in season now!!!

Hello, it’s Mee-wa!

I found an Edamame farm when I was taking a walk around my house the other day.

All the edamame pods seem to be ready for harvest.

Seeing edamame waiting to be harvested makes me feel that “summer” is coming soon!

(Summer in Japan usually starts near the end of July, after the rainy season ends, although it is already hot in temperature like summer.)

Edamame is a kind of vegetable and very popular in Japan. Today, it seems that edamame is available as TV dinner in other countries as well.

The picture above is the edamane I boiled in salt water, along with some edamame rice balls.  “Simple is Best” applies to cooking as well.

By the way, I have been hesitating about going on a trip or seeing my friends due to the Corona virus these days. That leads me to enjoy “eating or drinking” more than anything else.  No wonder the number of my blog articles about food is increasing now?
