Just an Ordinary Life in Japan (021): Happy New Year!

In Japan, many shops and restaurants are closed during New Year’s holidays, that is, usually from January 1 to 3.

And during New Year’s holidays, many Japanese people go to shrines or temples, making wishes for the new year.

My husband and I also went to a small shrine near our house on the 2nd, which has become our routine for every year.

This shrine was not crowded at all.  Actually, we were the only people there at that moment.

See the man standing in front of the shrine with a cat sitting next to him?  That’s my husband.

And the photo below is me making a wish.

What I wished for is, of course… that the coronavirus go away this year!!!

I want to go to various places in Japan and introduce them to you on my blog.
