Just an Ordinary Life in Japan (027): Lunchbox and Cherry Blossoms (Ohanami)

This park has around 200 cherry trees on its 5.8 ha hilltop area.

We laid a picnic sheet under the cherry blossoms right away.

It was lunch time!

In order to make this lunch, I had gotten up earlier that morning than usual.

-My favorite foods-

・Teriyaki chicken rolls
・Sausages (Can you see that they are cut to look like octopuses?)
・Egg omelet
・Potato salad with ham
・Spinach seasoned with sesame sauce
・Cherry tomatoes
・Grapes for dessert
・And of course, “rice balls” are a must for picnic lunch!

Although it took me a long time to make this lunch, it did not take us long to eat the all!  I think the lunch box was empty in about “10” minutes!

Anyway, I really thought I was happy to see cherry blossoms this year too.

Cherry blossoms bloom beautifully every year, even when we are experiencing hard times.

And when the time comes, they gracefully fall from the trees.

It may be that Japanese people are attracted by their short-lived beauty.
