At DIY stores in Japan, we can sometimes see a huge crowd of people, like a very popular amusement park.
I suppose you may have the same situation in your country?
I personally went to a DIY store with my husband the other day, looking for something interesting, or just some spring flowers for my garden.
So today I am going to write about the DIY store we went.
The name of the store is “JOYFUL HONDA,” one of the biggest DIY store chains in Japan.
It is a huge site with 168,318 square meters, and there is a large parking space for 3,450 cars.
The building itself is very big, and it has two floors.
On the first floor, there are stores for daily foods and goods, wooden materials, gardening tools, pet items, etc.
On the second floor, there is a food court, as well as a store for stationery, sewing items, toys, and so on.
Here you can get almost anything you want!
Daily Foods:
Sushi counters.
Fish market.
Disaster Prevention Goods:
Emergency foods that can be preserved for a long period of time.
Can you see that it says it is good and edible until May 2026?
Wooden Materials:
A wooden board that is wrapped in a plastic sheet.
A small toy-kitchen made of wood for small children.
This is where they cut the wood for you however you request.
Exterior Items:
That is my husband playing with a K’A’RCHER water gun!
These are fences made of wood or bamboo.
Workers Outfits and Tools:
Interior Items:
These are Japanese traditional sliding doors called “Fusuma,” which can be seen in many Japanese houses.
Flowers and Plants:
Pet Items:
I found a “Kotatsu” table for pets!
Now we go up the escalator to the second floor!
Food Court:
Stationery and Toys:
There are a variety of Japanese paper sheets.
Toy vehicles.
Now, how did you like the Japanese DIY store?
I walked more than 10,000 steps strolling here in a coupe of hours.
My legs may be sore tomorrow.
